We have a bold and distinct icon style that has been designed to complement Degular, our display typeface. Our icon style mixes hard edgeswith rounded curves to convey a sense of precision and craft.
Our icons represent key concepts that are core to Checkatrade and are used alongside a wider library of functional icons for more generic tasks such as downloading a file or favouriting a tradesperson.

Icon DNA
Our iconography has been drawn with the following principles:
Balance between hard and soft shapes – Combine sharp edges with smooth curves to create a visually harmonious and distinctive look.
Chunky yet approachable forms – Use rounded shapes to give icons a bold, sturdy feel while maintaining warmth and friendliness.
Thoughtful use of ink trap notches – Apply ink traps where they enhance clarity and character, but avoid adding them unnecessarily.

These icons work especially well at small sizes and can be used with our brand colours.
